IWD: WIA GLOWING WINGS PRESIDENT SEEKS GREATER SUPPORT FOR FEMALE LEADERSHIP IN AVIATION

As the world marks International Women’s Day, 2026, President of the Women in Aviation (Glowing Wings Chapter), and General Manager, Public Affairs, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Mrs. Evelyn Njoku has stressed the for continued advocacy for gender equality within the aviation sector.

Speaking on the transformative impact of female leadership, Mrs Njoku explained that women are increasingly redefining excellence across technical and administrative roles, from air traffic control towers to executive boardrooms.

The President, WIA Glowing Wings Chapter, emphasized that the resilience and vision shown by women are essential drivers of industry growth and national development.

Speaking on her dual role as a mentor and administrator, Mrs Njoku reaffirmed her commitment to breaking institutional barriers, ensuring that aviation becomes an accessible career path for the next generation of girls.

She described the day not merely as a celebration, but as a critical reminder that the defense of equal opportunity is a prerequisite for a stronger, more innovative aviation industry.
