BASL NAMED ‘MOST FIRE FREE PUBLIC FACILITY ‘

Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), operator of the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), has been named the “Most Fire-Free Public Facility” by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service at the Lagos International Fire Safety Conference 3.0.

The award recognises MMA2’s outstanding commitment to fire prevention, emergency preparedness and safety management.

BASL said the terminal has sustained a strong safety culture through investment in modern fire detection and suppression systems, regular emergency drills, staff training and strict compliance with aviation safety standards.

Acting Chief Operating Officer and Head of Space and Premises Management, Kola Bamigboye, described the recognition as a testament to BASL’s sustained investment in safety infrastructure and operational excellence, reaffirming the company’s commitment to providing a safe and secure environment for passengers and all terminal users.

Also speaking, Head of Aviation Safety, Nafisat Adeniran, said the award reflects the effectiveness of BASL’s proactive safety management system and the collective commitment of its workforce to preventing incidents through continuous training, risk assessment and adherence to global best practices.

BASL dedicated the award to its employees, airlines, concessionaires, partners and regulators, pledging to continue setting the benchmark for safety and operational excellence in Nigeria’s aviation industry.
