The Nigerian Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) will Tuesday October 20 th mark the World Air Traffic Controllers Day with a landmark event at the Port Harcourt International Airport.
The upcoming observance will combine international celebrations with a significant national milestone for aviation safety professionals.
Central to the upcoming event is the official commissioning of NATCA’s new Guest House and Secretariat, designed to serve as both a dedicated facility for members and a strategic operational hub to support enhanced service delivery.
Theme-driven under the banner of “Connecting People, Uniting Nations, Keeping the World Moving,” the gathering aims to underscore the critical, behind-the-scenes role air traffic controllers perform in maintaining safety and efficiency across domestic and international airspace.
Organizers emphasized that the event will honour air traffic control professionals past, present, and future, recognizing their contributions to aviation safety.
Grounded in the association’s core values of safety, professionalism, and excellence, the double celebration signifies both a tribute to industry veterans and a commitment toward building a stronger, unified organizational infrastructure.
